The F3000 class of powerboat racing, which the club specializes in, is known for its fast and powerful boats. The F3000 Outboard Performance Class (OPC) powerboats are single-seater catamarans, similar in design to Formula 1 and Formula 2 boats, and powered by 2.5 liter two-stroke outboard engines capable of reaching speeds over 160 kph with the ability to turn hard and fast in a single hard pin corner pulling in an excess of 3Gs.
Races often take place in challenging water conditions, making the sport both thrilling for spectators and demanding for participants. An F3000 powerboat running at maximum speed on the ragged edge is truly an amazing sight of agility, power and balance. Races are run in a closed circuit and is usually twenty laps covering a distance of 25km.
